COME WITH US!
WHAT:This will be our 15th ANNUAL CAMPING TRIP! It is a chance for us, as a new team, to run, swim, play games, eat, and generally have fun TOGETHER before the season and the school year get underway! We will be moving the camping trip back to its former time slot, on the weekend prior to classes beginning in August. We will leave on Friday, August 20th and return the next Sunday. We will head to Macomb, Illinois for the camping trip. We will camp in tents in Macomb that weekend for two nights. WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND!
This is a MAJOR activity for us each year as we strive to become a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM! Please plan to attend!
WHEN:This year's trip will be from Friday, August 20th to Sunday, August 22nd.
WHO:ALL INTERESTED CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNERS (Freshmen, you too!)
WHERE:Spring Lake Park, Macomb, Illinois (This is Mr. Iverson's home town!)
WHY: This is a VITAL part of our development as a TEAM! It allows each athlete to get to know her teammates! EVERYONE HAS A ROLE IN THIS PROGRAM, NO MATTER HOW FAST SHE RUNS! The camping trip allows us to get away and discuss what we'd like to accomplish over the course of the season. Cross-Country is truly a TEAM SPORT, and most people don't understand that. If we are to accomplish anything this year, it will be done as a team and not as a group of individuals.
HOW:The cost is $80, and forms and checks (made out to NNHS) should be given to Mr. Iverson by Friday, July 30th. Please also note that cost should NOT be a factor in the decision whether to go! If cost is an issue, please privately contact Mr. Iverson and arrangements can be made. NOTE THAT WE ARE STILL GOING OVERNIGHT TO THE PLEASANT VALLEY INVITATIONAL. TO THAT END, WE ARE WORKING THE NAPERVILLE TRIATHLON ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 8TH. THIS WILL SERVE AS A FUNDRAISER FOR THIS WEEKEND AND SHOULD PAY FOR THE HOTEL ROOMS ON FRIDAY NIGHT! THIS IS ON THE CALENDAR IN THE ORANGE BOOKS AND MUST BE ATTENDED BY ALL TEAM MEMBERS WHO CAN ON THAT MORNING!
